My name is Rebecca Bierwolf and I have been paralyzed since I was 15 months old due to an auto-pedestrian accident. My mom had a desire for me to find excellence in a talent or ability that reached beyond my disability. She was drawn to the violin and researched a method called the Suzuki Violin Method.

At six years old I began studying with Jeanne Grover, one of the best Suzuki teachers in Utah. I have participated in many fine musical experiences throughout the years including being a member of the Utah Youth Symphony, Jack Ashton’s Young Artist Chamber Players, and the 2002 Winter Olympics Medals Ceremonies Orchestra and Closing Ceremonies Orchestra.

I graduated in 2003 from Weber State University with my Bachelor's in Violin Performance and am currently a member of the Orchestra at Temple Square, accompanying the world famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir. I also have studied vocal technique for 12 years. Finding opportunities to lift others through the gift and power of music, has given me a sense of purpose in my life.

Beyond music, my hobbies include scrapbooking, waterskiing, and snow skiing. I have participated in two 10K races and would love to do a marathon in the near future!

Traveling is a passion of mine. I love experiencing and learning about different cultures. I have sat on the Great Wall of China and been to the top of the Alyshan Forest in Taiwan. The next two stamps in my passport I would love to get is one from New Zealand and Australia! To pay for my travel adventures, I am employed at a financial group, where I am a Marketing Assistant to two financial advisors.

I dearly love my family! They are my greatest strength and greatest support. I have 3 beautiful sisters and 1 very handsome brother (he is so lucky to have all these women in his life!) Two of my sisters are married and between them I have 2 awesome brother-in-laws, 2 adorable nephews and 2 adorable nieces!

We have two family dogs: Oscar (he is a beautiful gray schnauzer) and Elphaba (an all black tiny teacup toy poodle!) My parents are my heroes! They made decisions early-on in my life that has shaped the life I live now. Their constant love and support is the foundation of my courage and I am so grateful to them for all they have given me.

The honor of being Ms Wheelchair Utah has been a humbling and inspiring experience. I am continually realizing who and what I represent. I desire to make a difference in the lives of anyone who has ever faced a difficult challenge by sharing with them the tools that have helped me in overcoming trials amidst troublesome times.
