Ms. Wheelchair America Pageant changes lives for contestants and the people they meet. For some its the first trip out of their home state. For others their first plane trip, first night staying in a big hotel, and first opportunity to meet other women in the same situation.

Since 1974 the Ms. Wheelchair America Program has offered an opportunity for women in wheelchairs to publicize their achievements, educate, and advocate for others with disabilities. The program is not a beauty pageant. It is a competition helping women to see their potential, share their accomplishments, and challenge personal growth. MWA Pageant is a vehicle to educate the public concerning disability issues. To open doors and speak to those who may not normally listen.
