Hello from Ms. South Dakota Wheelchair 2005, Sandie Jungers. I have lived all of my
life in South Dakota and am currently living in Watertown with my family. South Dakota offers a wide variety of weather and activities. Personally, I
like the warm summer days and watching gentle snows. I enjoy riding ATVs, snow skiing, and reading. I have been married to a wonderful man, Tom, for 21 years. We have three
children, Nathan, 19, Jon, 17, and Alicia, 15. I use a manual wheelchair for
mobility due to a four-wheeler accident in August of 2002. I am a T-8
paraplegic, which essentially means I have no feeling below my rib cage. My
immediate and extended families have been so supportive since this
life-altering event. Friends and co-workers are also keys to my successful
adjustment. I received a Bachelorıs Degree from Northern State University in
elementary education and special education. In 1994, I earned a Masterıs
Degree from the University of South Dakota. |
